The executive approved the business plan presented by the Karakert rock smelting plant. The factory was founded in 1998 and is engaged in the production of metal ingots in the Armavir marz.
The company is the largest Armenian steel smelting enterprise. The factory will use scrap metals existing in Armenia, which were once exported outside Armenia without added value.
Bearing in mind that there are no factories producing metal products in Armenia, there is no possibility of consumption of metal ingots, so the company plans to export the products to the Republic of Georgia, for re-export to the EU and EAEU member states.
The construction of the plant started in 2021 and production will start in 2023. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to make a capital investment of 1.4 billion drams and until 2028. to create 85 new jobs.
