LE FIGARO. – In a statement, the Order of physiotherapists says that physiotherapists are an essential solution to the epidemic of bronchiolitis. However, the High Authority for Health (HAS) does not recommend physiotherapy in the event of bronchiolitis.
Pascale MATHIEU. – This is a misinterpretation and miscommunication of HAS recommendations. Never in this text does the HAS say that you should not consult a physiotherapist in the event of bronchiolitis. What she is saying is that bronchial clearance chest physiotherapy is not recommended in children without other illnesses and is contraindicated in hospitalized children (which represent between 3% and 5% of children who bronchiolitis).
