In the outgoing week (March 10 to 14), the stock market of the country traded in a downward trend. Trading volume also fell along with the index throughout the week. Besides, the market capitalization of both the stock exchanges decreased by more than 66 thousand 283 crore 18 lakh rupees in the outgoing week.
This information was revealed in the weekly market review of Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE) on Saturday (March 16).
On the last working day of the farewell week, 2 thousand 793 crores 88 lakhs 10 thousand taka were traded in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). And in the week before the farewell week, 4 thousand 53 crore 5 lakh 80 thousand taka were traded. That is, the transaction in DSE has decreased by 1 thousand 259 crore 17 lakh taka or 31.07 percent during the week.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at Tk 6 lakh 99 thousand 635 crore 46 lakh 53 thousand 645. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of DSE was 7 lakh 48 thousand 827 crore 73 lakh 41 thousand 77 rupees. That is, the market capital has decreased by Tk 49 thousand 192 crore 26 lakh 87 thousand 423 during the week.
During the week, the main index of DSE, DSEX, decreased by 144.72 points or 2.37 percent to 5 thousand 968 points. Among the other indices, DSE Shariah index decreased by 36.09 points or 2.70 percent to 1 thousand 299 points and DSE-30 index decreased by 42.76 points or 2.04 percent to 2 thousand 51 points.
A total of 411 institutional shares and units were traded on DSE in the outgoing week. Among the institutions, 69 advanced, 301 declined, 31 were unchanged and 10 were not traded.
Another capital market, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), traded 74 crore 90 lakh 46 thousand taka on the last working day of the outgoing week. And the week before the farewell week was traded 81 crore 18 lakh 92 thousand taka. In other words, during the week, transactions in CSE decreased by 6 crore 28 lakh 46 thousand rupees.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at 7 lakh 25 thousand 750 crore 3 lakh 10 thousand taka. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of CSE was 7 lakh 42 thousand 840 crore 95 lakh 50 thousand taka. in money That is, the market capital has decreased by Tk 17 thousand 90 crore 92 lakh 40 thousand within a week.
In the week, the overall index of CSE CASPI decreased by 460 points or 2.62 percent to 17 thousand 90 points. Among other indices of CSE, CSCX decreased by 1.60 percent to 10,261 points, CSE-30 index decreased by 1.74 percent to 12,811 points and CSI index decreased by 2.18 percent to 1,108 points.
A total of 328 companies’ shares and units were traded on the CSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, share and unit prices of 63 increased, 244 decreased and 21 remained unchanged.
