This Sunday, March 19, Pétange is organizing the 66th edition of its cavalcade with a procession made up of 27 floats.

The oldest of the cavalcades of the Grand Duchy returns this weekend. At the reins of this 66th edition, the association Karneval Gemeng Péiteng, will invade the streets of Pétange with a procession made up of more than 1,000 participants including 27 animated floats as well as 28 musical formations and folk groups. 55 numbers will set off on a 3 km course which will start at 2:11 p.m. from Porte de Lamadelaine, rue de Longwy. Along the way, many stands for drinks and grills will welcome the public.

Two stands will house the guests of honor and other supporters of the carnival alongside the two princely couples of this edition. Prince Marc III and Princess Mandy I as well as the childish princely couple Nick I and Mia II will welcome visitors.

Pigs, mascot of the cavalcade

Each year a mascot is designated to represent the carnival of Pétange. For this 66th edition, a pig named Porci will have the difficult task of symbolizing the event. It will be offered in the form of a keychain, the sales of which will finance the various carnival activities. Porci will also personally participate in the procession.
