The Slovak government has decided to hand over MiG-29 fighter jets. THE Dennikn/Our day According to reports, Prime Minister Eduard Heger announced that the gift-giving was in line with the constitution, and President Zuzana Caputová and Speaker Boris Kollár also approved it.

According to Heger, the MiGs will be used to protect Ukraine’s airspace, to save lives, not for offensive operations.

At the same time, the head of government rejected the accusations of former prime minister Robert Fico, the leader of the opposition, that by sending the fighter jets, Slovakia is entering the war.

Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad announced that the planes are currently in Slovakia. Their transfer – which may take weeks – will be carried out in close coordination with Poland.
