The Council of Ministers discussed, during its weekly session today, chaired by Engineer Hussein Arnous, the reality of the efforts exerted to confront the repercussions of the earthquake in terms of economic, service and social aspects, and to complete the data related to the inventory of damages. On the ground, he instructed the General Organization for Housing to expedite the completion of contracting procedures for the proposed sites in the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia to secure housing for those affected.

With the advent of the holy month of Ramadan approaching, the Council was briefed on the availability of basic and food items in the markets, and requested the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade to prepare an integrated vision on the reality of performance and ways to develop the work of free zones and free markets so that they take on the role assigned to them in economic development and in accordance with the approved international standards for the work of these areas.

Engineer Arnous emphasized the necessity of conducting a comprehensive review of the work of the boards of directors of joint companies between Syria and other parties and developing their work mechanisms to be effective and productive and providing them with expertise and qualified cadres to enhance their role in stimulating the economy and increasing production, pointing to the importance of preparing integrated files for investment projects offered for cooperation with friendly countries.

In light of climate changes, the Prime Minister stressed the need to develop a clear strategy to deal with the consequences of these variables, especially on the agricultural sector, with studied scientific methods, to ensure increased agricultural production and reduce the negative impact of these changes on various crops, and asked the Ministry of Water Resources to study specific sites for the construction of dams. water in areas where heavy precipitation is concentrated to be used in irrigation operations.

The Council listened to a presentation by the Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq, on the reality of the work of the Arab Advertising Agency and the proposed vision to develop its work and exercise its role efficiently. It was emphasized that the institution’s software and systems should be updated, and the branches’ work should be automated and linked to the central administration, and the expansion of electronic services and road advertising projects.

In order to complete the procedures of the central competition and issue the instruments of appointment within the legal deadlines, the Council approved the proposal of the Ministry of Administrative Development and the Central Agency for Financial Control to request the ministries to issue the instruments of those accepted for appointment and those who have completed their identification papers within a date not exceeding April 15th, and to accept the completion of the supporting documents required for appointment until the date of the first of April. next April.

The Council discussed the draft legislative instrument that includes the establishment of the General Authority for the Management and Protection of State Property, with the aim of optimally protecting and managing state private property, maintaining and investing it in a way that achieves stable and permanent resources for the state’s public treasury. It also approved a number of service and development projects in a number of governorates.
