The Basmanny Court of Moscow sent the Minister of Culture of Crimea Arina Novoselskaya to a pre-trial detention center, accused of accepting a bribe of 25 million rubles. during the reconstruction of the Simferopol Puppet Theater. The court set the arrest period until January 17, 2022.

“The court granted the petition of the investigating authorities with the requirement to choose a measure of restraint in respect of Novoselskaya in the form of detention for two months,” the press service of the court told Kommersant.

Earlier, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that investigative measures were being taken against Mrs. Novoselskaya. According to the investigation, the minister took money from representatives of the St. Petersburg construction company Meandr LLC for patronage during the construction of a project that had not yet been implemented.
