Court of Auditors Recommends Roadmap for Tax and Parafiscal Reform
Rabat – The Court of Auditors has recommended developing and operationalizing a roadmap for the implementation of reforms relating to the overhaul of local authority taxation and parafiscality.
In its 2021 annual report, the Court also recommended continuing efforts to implement reforms relating to income tax and value-added tax, while setting related timelines and communicating on the budgetary impact of the changes made or planned.
It also stressed the need to carry out a regular assessment of the socio-economic impact of the incentives granted in order to take appropriate decisions on their maintenance, revision or removal as appropriate.
The document recalls that framework law no. 69.19 on tax reform aims to establish an efficient tax system to mobilize the tax resources necessary for financing public policies.
At this level, the government has undertaken a set of measures which denote its commitment to the implementation of the provisions of the aforementioned framework law, which mainly concerned the launch of the reform of corporate and income tax, underlines the same source.
