Deputy Minister of Digital Development Maxim Parshin, who is on trial for taking a bribe on an especially large scale, will be placed under house arrest until September 12, 2023. This is stated in the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow (available to Vedomosti).

“In satisfying the petition of the investigator to choose a measure of restraint in the form of detention in relation to Parshin Maksim Viktorovich, accused of committing a crime under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, it was refused, a preventive measure in the form of house arrest was chosen for him until September 12, 2023. The decision did not enter into force, ”said the representative of the press service of the court.

Parshin is charged with committing a crime under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – taking a bribe by an official on an especially large scale. The maximum punishment for it is 15 years in prison, as well as a fine of up to one hundred times the amount of the bribe with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 15 years.

Deputy Minister of Digital Development Maxim Parshin is involved in the same criminal case with the CEO of BFT-Holding Alexander Monosov. This information was confirmed to Vedomosti by a spokesman for the Basmanny District Court of Moscow. Earlier it became known that Monosov was also placed under house arrest until September 12.
