Today, Friday, the Ministry of Oil confirmed that the contract with the Ukrainian company to develop the Akkas gas field was signed according to deliberate mechanisms, while indicating that the Ukrainian and Iraqi embassies had ratified the documents while setting conditions and banking guarantees.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Bassem Muhammad Khudair, said in a statement to the (INA): “The Ukrainian company Ukrazm Resource, which was contracted to develop the Okaz gas field, was qualified and its documents were approved according to the mechanisms approved by the Ministry of Oil, and all documents were certified by the Ukrainian Embassy and the Iraqi Embassy.” in Ukraine”.
He added, “The Ministry of Oil placed conditions on the Ukrainian company that were not placed on companies previously, in addition to a bank guarantee of $50 million if any incorrect information is proven.”
He pointed out, “There has been a major attack against the projects of the Ministry of Oil since the current government took over and its program has achieved effective steps in reducing imports at the level of gas oil, gasoline, and refineries.”
The Ministry of Oil announced earlier the signing of a contract with the Ukrainian company Ukrazm Resources to develop the Akkas gas field.
