The “flat Earth” theory is one of those conspiracy theories that seems more funny than dangerous. But they are not completely harmless. At a minimum, the “flat Earth” killed the American Mike Hughes. In 2020, it crashed during a failed launch of a homemade steam-powered rocket. It was the “flat earthers” who helped him raise money for the enterprise. In return, he promised to take a photo of the planet from above and thus once and for all prove its disk-like appearance. Members of the Flat Earth Society, as you know, do not believe official photographs from space and consider them to be fakes.
