It is only a matter of time before the completion of a large project with a cultural and historical connotation, after the signing of the fourth supply contract, which completes the equipment of the former Boys’ – Girls’ School of Delvinaki, the emblematic building, which will function as a focus for the promotion and study of the local cultural heritage in absolute connection with the historicity of the area.

The project entitled “Supply of equipment for the utilization and modernization of the former Boys’ – Girls’ School of Delvinaki” has a budget of 211,898.02 euros including VAT. 24% and is financed by the Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020”. It is Sub-project 2 of the act entitled “Reuse of a Municipal Building of a former Boys’ – Girls’ School for a multi-purpose space for the provision of knowledge and culture”.
The fourth and last contract has a budget of 90,268.28 euros including VAT, and concerns the upgrading and modernization of the electronic IT and communication infrastructure of the building, through the supply of PC workstations, central data storage equipment, suitable audiovisual equipment for the multipurpose and conference room, electronic equipment to support the exhibition and collection areas, the library and reading rooms, the classroom, the offices and the hospitality areas of the building.
The other three contracts, which are in the phase of delivery and installation of the equipment within the premises of the building, concerned the supply of furniture, professional refreshment equipment and the building’s automation and energy management system.
The role of the building as an agent for the preservation of the historical and cultural memory of the area of ​​the Municipality of Pogoni is called to be co-shaped within an expanding digital environment using technological innovations, in order to achieve a new balance, combining the preservation of the cultural tradition of the area with modern challenges to improve the sustainability and living conditions of the staff, as well as the reduction of the energy footprint of the building.
The former Boys’ – Girls’ School of Delvinaki was built in 1875 and has been classified as a historical monument. It is characterized by its imposingness and its “strict” symmetry, both in terms of the plan and in terms of its appearance. It is a two-story building with a paved courtyard a short distance from the central square of the village.
