Saudi Arabia unveiled its first female humanoid robot. Her name is Sara and she is designed to respect the country’s cultural values ​​and even avoids talking about sex and politics.
The robot was developed by the Riyadh-based company QSS AI & Robots. Sara is dressed in the traditional clothing of the country – abaya.
The company has developed a special artificial intelligence for the robot that does not depend on external data sets, such as those from ChatGPT.
“Sarah knows that she is a 25-year-old woman and that she is 1.62 cm tall. She knows that she should be nice and not discuss politics and sex because she is in Saudi Arabia,” explained the company’s CEO. Eli Metri.
The robot speaks Arabic and English.
The company also developed a male humanoid robot, but its presentation did not go as planned after the robot Mohammed tried to touch a reporter on the buttocks.
Muhammad is also dressed in traditional Arab clothing and speaks both Arabic and English. During the robot’s introduction, an Al Arabiya reporter stood next to it, and video footage shows the robot seemingly reaching forward to touch the journalist.
