The Russian-Dutch consultations on security in the field of information and communication technologies were held in The Hague on September 16-17. The parties spoke out against confrontations in this direction. The Russian delegation was headed by the special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation, Andrei Krutskikh, and the Dutch delegation was led by Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Natalie Yaarsma.

“The agenda of the consultations included a wide range of security issues in the use of ICT on global and regional platforms, as well as on a bilateral track. The parties stated the need to prevent conflicts and prevent any kind of confrontation in the ICT environment, use ICT for peaceful purposes, strengthen international cooperation in the field of combating information crime, “the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the TFR, and the FSO. The delegation of the Netherlands was represented by experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and Security, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Economy. Russia presented to the Netherlands a draft convention on countering the use of ICT for criminal purposes.
