Pete Lawthe pair of founders of One Plus (OnePlus) and currently the CEO of the company – his partner in action Carl Fay As I recall, we are in a different place today – post on his Twitter account A pair of photos where you can clearly see a hinge for a folding phone. “What do you think it is?” he wrote next to the pictures.

The photograph of the internal component obviously does not allow us to reveal any details about the external design of the device, apart from the fact that it seems that this is a hinge designed for a foldable device with a configuration more similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold, and not for a device with a clamshell configuration such as the Galaxy Z Flip or the Moto Razr. This of course goes with the fact that the parent company (Oppo) already has a foldable device with such a configuration, the Find N, and it is likely that One Plus will rely on it for information one way or another when launching its own foldable device.

Now the main question is whether the One Plus foldable, which is expected to reach the market according to the rumors during 2023, will be very similar to that of Oppo, or have a unique design and exclusive features for it.

Either way, it seems that one thing can definitely be stated with confidence. Unlike Oppo or Xiaomi, companies that are still mainly aimed at the Asian market, One Plus is a well-known company in the West and makes efforts to market most of its products at least in Europe. This certainly increases the chance that One Plus will pose a real competition to Samsung, while Oppo prefers to focus on the Chinese market with its foldable device in the meantime.
