French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal will visit Berlin on Monday in his first foreign visit, during which he will meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz with the aim of strengthening Franco-German relations.

A spokesman for the chancellor said, “This meeting will address all bilateral, European and international issues, in addition to economic policy issues.”

It is scheduled that “the two officials will then hold a joint press conference and have dinner in the Chancellery.”

In a message on the “X” platform, Schulz congratulated Attal on January 9 on his appointment as head of the French government, speaking about “continuing and strengthening cooperation after recent disagreements, especially in the field of energy.”
