American film actor James Caan, who became widely known for one of the main roles in the movie The Godfather, has died at the age of 83. This was reported on the actor’s Twitter.
Caan was born on March 26, 1940 in New York, in the famous Bronx area. He made his film debut in 1963 in Billy Wilder’s Tender Irma.
Caan is best known for his role as Santino “Sonny” Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather. Kaan also starred in the films The Thief, Journey to Shiloh, Rollerball, Rain People and many others. He had five children.
