The Fabergé Museum opened a retrospective exhibition “Boris Grigoriev: “The First Master in the World.” The presented exhibition is an impressive example of how, on the basis of disparate exhibits, one can assemble a complete portrait of an artist, from whose works, in turn, the image of Russia at the beginning of the twentieth century is formed.

In the paintings of Boris Grigoriev, his character is palpably visible, as if woven from contradictions and sharp corners, which the artist does not avoid in his work, but emphasizes, building images and characters on them. A maestro of phantasmagoria, Grigoriev for a long time remained a little-known artist to a wide Russian audience, familiarity with his work was limited to the textbook portrait of Meyerhold in 1916.
