Thiruvananthapuram: The Governor clarified that the government can give the responsibility of the VC of the Technical University to those who are interested. Raj Bhavan issued a letter clarifying this. Digital University VC Dr. The letter also says that Saji Gopinath can be given the responsibility.
The governor’s move to yield to the government comes after facing setbacks in the court. Dr. The Raj Bhavan handed over the letter to the government on the occasion of the retirement of the interim VC of Sisa Thomas Technical University.
Dr. When the government asked Saji Gopinath to be given temporary charge, the governor rejected it. Moreover, the governor also sent a notice to Saji Gopinath who is not eligible to sit in the position of VC and to show the reason why he should not be removed from the position.
But the constant backlash from the High Court in university cases became a setback for the governor. The Court stated that the expulsion of Kerala University Senate members was annulled and the formation of the Governor Search Committee on its own was illegal. This is his current attitude change.
