The semi-final round of the international tournament among women boxers “The Great Silk Road” has ended in Baku.
As reported by İdman.biz, 2 athletes of the Azerbaijani national team reached the finals.
Boxers from the team Anakhanym Ismailova and Marjona Savrieva met in the weight category up to 50 kg. The match ended in victory for the second with a score of 3:2. In the final, Savrieva will fight with Gunel Ragimova (Azerbaijan).
Zeinab Ragimova also won the semi-final match. Our boxer, who tested her strength in the 54 kg weight category, defeated Italian Alena Savchuk – 3:2. She will find out her relationship with Shahina Nematova (Uzbekistan) in the decisive battle.
In addition to Ismailova, Nargiz Zeynalova (54 kg), Makhsati Khamzaeva and Aisu Darvishova (both 60 kg) completed the tournament with bronze medals. They lost to Shahina Nematova (Uzbekistan), Rebecca Nicoli (Italy) and Budai Vivienne (Hungary) respectively.
The final fights of women boxers will take place on March 27. Tomorrow in the final matches Mehpara Mamedova (48 kg) will test her strength against Erica Prisciandaro (Italy), and Lala Namazli (63 kg) will test her strength against Canfora Assunta (Italy).
It should be noted that the fight of male boxers on the “Great Silk Road”, in which 121 athletes from 11 countries participate, will end on March 28.
