Residents of the districts of Pyatigorsk, located near the Kholod refrigeration plant, are evacuated due to a serious fire in the workshop. The area of the fire reaches 600 square meters. m, there is a threat of the spread of fire, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told reporters.
According to the agency, a message about a fire in the compressor shop of a cold storage plant on Kozlov Street was received at 15:09 Moscow time. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or deaths. 64 people and 19 units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the fire.
The head of Pyatigorsk, Dmitry Voroshilov, announced the creation of a headquarters to extinguish the fire and the beginning of the evacuation of the population. He asked residents not to approach the fire site.
“As a precaution, people in the nearby houses are being evacuated. Please treat the security measures taken with understanding, ”Voroshilov wrote on Instagram.
