Since November, Iran has slightly reduced its stockpile of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Interfax, the relevant information is presented in the IAEA report, which was reviewed by Bloomberg.

IAEA inspectors said on Monday that Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium has fallen by 5% since November compared with the previous quarter, when production increased by 5%. However, this still means that the Islamic Republic has sufficient technical knowledge and materials to equip several atomic bombs within a few weeks, if a decision is made to create weapons,” the agency writes.

The IAEA said that “in order to achieve the reduction, Iran mixed 31.8 kg of uranium enriched to 60% with material of lower concentration.”

Thus, IAEA inspectors noted, Iranian reserves of uranium enriched to 60% decreased to 121.5 kg from 128.3 kg in November. This is the first reduction in Iranian reserves of highly enriched uranium since 2021, Bloomberg notes.

At the same time, reserves of uranium enriched to 20% increased from 567.1 kg in November to 712.2 kg.

Iran has repeatedly stated that it does not intend to produce nuclear weapons and that its nuclear program is exclusively peaceful.
