Disgrace A Givat fighter, who was involved last Friday in the violent incident with the left-wing anarchist activists in Hebron, was sentenced to 10 days in a military prison in a disciplinary case.
The fighter, as I recall, said during the confrontation to the dangerous left-wing activists: “Ben Gabir is going to put order in this place. No, you ate her. I determine what the law is, and you are acting against the law.”
The fighter was represented by attorney Ofir Steiner from the Honnu organization, who responded: “The soldier was brought to a disciplinary hearing – a judgment by the commanding officers – after the senior command had already ruled against him in every possible way.
He asked to be tried as if it was not a publicized event, and in the end he was sentenced to actual imprisonment, despite a clear version he presented, according to which he had no intention of expressing a political position or acting contrary to the instructions. A punishment that was simply decreed in advance.”
