Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived at the head of a high-ranking diplomatic delegation to the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Wednesday morning as part of a regional tour that also includes Egypt and Turkey.
Jordanian King Abdullah II received Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is visiting Jordan as part of a regional tour.
Araghchi arrived in the Kingdom this morning on an official visit, during which he met his Jordanian counterpart at the headquarters of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Amman, and the two sides exchanged views on the most important regional issues and developments.
It was reported by the Iranian media that, “In this visit, Araqchi will meet with senior Jordanian officials and hold discussions with them on “regional issues and stopping Israeli crimes.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei wrote on his page on the “X” platform, “Araqchi will also go to Egypt and Turkey as part of his regional tour and hold consultations aimed at stopping genocide and crimes committed by the Zionist entity.”
In recent days, the Iranian Foreign Minister undertook a tour that took him to Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, and the Sultanate of Oman to conduct diplomatic consultations on developments in the arena in Gaza and Lebanon and to make efforts to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Gaza.
In a related context, Araqchi confirmed in a call with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, that “Iran is ready to respond strongly to any “Israeli adventure.”
Araqchi added, “Israel and the United States bear responsibility for any increase in insecurity in the region.”
He pointed out that “the United Nations must use all its capabilities to stop Israeli crimes in Gaza and Lebanon.”
This comes amid expectations that Israel will soon carry out a strike in response to the missile attack launched by Iran early last October.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said yesterday that a complete consensus had been reached on the method, timing, and strength of the response to the Iranian attack during the security consultations. She added that the plan to strike Iran is awaiting the approval of the mini-ministerial council for its implementation.
