The President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muften, praised the great level shown by the Al-Kahraba team players after the deserved victory over its Lebanese counterpart, Al-Ahed, with a clean goal, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the West Asia region of the AFC Cup in football.
Muftin said, in a statement received by the (INA): “Al-Kahraba Club played a great match and deserved to win it, bringing it very close to qualifying for the final match of the West Asia region,” explaining that “the representative of Iraq deserves to be crowned with the continental title, in light of the great levels achieved.” He has presented it so far in the AFC Cup and topped the teams in his group, which included with him teams with a great reputation in Asian football, such as Al-Kuwait of Kuwait and Al-Wehdat of Jordan.
