The Jury Board of ‘National Film Awards-2023’ has been reconstituted. Actor Ilyas Kanchan, music director Prince Mahmood, actress Opi Karim, singer Nazmun Munira Nancy got a place in it. This information was informed in a notification of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting yesterday evening.
The total number of members of this jury board is 13 restructured with the Additional Secretary (Films) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as the President. It has the Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Film Censor Board as its member secretary. There is also the director general of Bangladesh Film Archive and the head of the film division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The other members of the jury board are—producer Zahidur Rahim Anjan, cinematographer Barkat Hossain, Dhaka University Television, Film and Photography Department president SM Imran Hossain, Bangladesh Film Development Corporation managing director and journalist Wahid Sujan.
The mandate of the reconstituted jury board in the notification of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting states that the jury board will recommend the names of films, artistes and crews for the award after observing the films released in 2023. The notice mentions that the National Film Awards will be given in a total of 28 categories.
