Unanimous vote of the Valle d’Aosta Regional Council for the establishment of the College appointed by lot

AOSTA. The Valle d’Aosta Regional Council unanimously approved the law establishing the Board of Auditors of the Region.

Composed of three effective members and three alternates, appointed by the regional council following drawing lots from a list, the College has the task of expressing an opinion on the provisions concerning the budget of the regional body (from the stability law to variations, from the budget to the report, from settlements to off-balance sheet debts). It will be a supervisory body that will work with the Control Section of the Court of Auditors of the Aosta Valley.

Commenting on the bill, the councilor for finance, Carlo Marzi, spoke of a «passage carried out by this government which closes a political and administrative circle and gives the Administration a tool that means transparency, certainty, control. A form of control that must be interpreted as a greater opportunity for discussion that will enrich the administrative action of the Region and the Council ».

According to Lega councilor Stefano Aggravi, former regional councilor for finance, the law “finally allows us to align our Administration with the accounting control standards already defined by other regional systems, enhancing the impartiality of opinions and greater transparency in financial management and public budget. Above all, it will favor the authority and the work carried out by this Administration ».
