The event that the Federation of Business Organizations of Girona (FOEG) celebrated yesterday in the Sitja Auditorium had as main protagonists four companies from Girona that were recognized for the route, for their business model and for their good work in the field of Corporate Social Responsibilitythe central theme of the event.

The carpentry Llaussàs de Flaçà received recognition as a long-term company. At the head of the carpentry shop is currently the eighth generation that keeps a company alive more than two hundred years. Beyond its centenary journey, the FOEG wanted to reward carpentry to, on the one hand, vindicate “the figure of masons and installers”, and on the other, to show that “the employer also takes into account to small businesses”.

Success stories

As cases of success, the employer recognized “companies that during the years 2022 and 2023 have experienced significant growth, have expanded their workforce or facilities; or they have opened up to new markets». Considering these premises, the campsite The Merry Whale de Sant Pere Pescador took home the first recognition for its commitment “to environmental sustainability at a time of climate emergency” and because its model has become “an example to follow”. From the campsite they have carried out the sustainable holidays campaign which, as he explained Toni Castellar, director of the campsite, is based on “carrying out a project to reduce the CO2 footprint in order to be more sustainable with the environment”. A sustainable struggle that has allowed them to also receive awards like the most sustainable campsite in Europe by the German international guide for campsites and caravans.

He Padrosa Groupwhich this year celebrates 100 years of logistics history in the Empordà, received the second recognition as a success story. Among the reasons for the recognition, FOEG highlighted that “they were pioneers in having the latest generation vehicles” and also “they were among the first to do international transport”. During the collection, as one of the objectives of those responsible, Peter Padrosadirector of the group, noted that “the danger behind the wheel has made them more responsible and inclusive” and he recalled that “they have been involved in gender equality in a predominantly male sector for 30 years”.
