The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, received in his office today, Sunday, a delegation from the Football Tennis Federation, headed by Safaa Sahib. During the meeting, the mechanism for Iraq’s hosting of the World Football Tennis Championships next year was discussed.

In a statement to the media office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, received by the (INA), Al-Mubarqa stressed “the importance of studying hosting and providing all requirements for holding the tournament, in order to ensure a successful tournament, preparing the youth complex, the People’s Hall, and specialized halls for that, and discussing the possibility of building a new hall for playing.” “, indicating: “The state’s approach is to support all sports equally, in terms of support, support, and organization of regional and international championships.”
Al-Mubarqa added, “Iraq is capable of hosting important international sporting events, and it has proven this on more than one occasion, the most recent of which was Baghdad’s hosting of the Asian Bow and Arrow Championship.”
For its part, the Iraqi Football Tennis Federation, Safaa Sahib, pointed out that “the role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in holding and sponsoring international tournaments is very important, as it is the government body sponsoring the sports sector, in addition to having great experience in this field.”
The meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Department of Legal, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Talib Al-Mousawi, the Director-General of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Muwaffaq Abdel-Wahab, and the Director-General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Hossam Hassan.
