Localization of equipment production can become one of the criteria for assessing the technological independence of critical information infrastructure (CII). A representative of the Ministry of Digital Development told Vedomosti about this.
The requirement to switch to domestic IT solutions in KII was formulated in presidential decrees No. 166 of March 30, 2022 and No. 250 of May 1, 2022. According to the first, from January 1, 2025, it is prohibited to use foreign software on significant KII facilities. The second decree states that from January 1, 2025, authorities and organizations will not be able to use information security tools (ISIS – software and hardware designed to protect against current threats) from unfriendly countries.
