A record-breaking attack on the public services portal was registered on November 10, according to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Digital Science. The portal crashed earlier today.

“On November 10, 2021, a record-breaking attack on public services was reflected, over 680 Gigabits per second,” the message says.

During the current week, two failures occurred on the public services portal. A failure “for technical reasons” occurred on the site on November 8th. Then several users told Vedomosti that the validity period of their COVID certificates had been reduced from one year to six months. At the same time, users did not receive notifications about the reduction of the document’s validity period. The authorities later explained the incident with a failure, during which the validity of certificates for vaccination against coronavirus for 300,000 Russians was halved. Then the head of the Ministry of Digital Science Maksut Shadayev said that the ministry would conduct additional testing of the portal.

On November 11, the second failure of the portal occurred. Some users had problems logging into the site for 20 minutes, according to the ministry. Now the work of state services has been restored, technical specialists are investigating the cause of the incident.
