What to do in the event of huge inflation, low interest rates and an expensive shock?
The worries and needs of many people are great. BILD therefore invited experts and readers to the large consumer dialogue on the 19th floor of the publishing house in Berlin for the first time on Tuesday.
Julia Klöckner (49, CDU), economic policy spokeswoman for the Union faction, warned in her opening speech: “We need effective measures, life must remain affordable. Many livelihoods are in danger.”
Applause for these clear words. It remained emotional: financial entrepreneur Carsten Maschmeyer (63, new No. 1 tech influencer in Germany) settled accounts with the traffic light government: “The state is only intervening ineptly and incompletely in the current crisis”. And: “With inflation of over ten percent, the limit of what is unacceptable has been reached, but that’s not the end. We’re in for a treat!”
Editor-in-chief Johannes Boie recalled the BILD commitment: “In July we promised our readers that we would accompany and support them through the crisis. BILD campaigns against inflation, exposes injustices, gives savings tips and criticizes wrong political decisions.”
