President of the Najaf Sports Club, Ali Al-Ghazali, confirmed the determination of the administration and the Najafi fans to develop a long-term plan to improve the status of the football team competing in the Iraqi Stars Professional League.
Al-Ghazali said, to the (INA), today, Sunday: “The club’s administrative body has completed all the plans drawn up and prepared in advance to return the club to safety after the difficult period that befell it and the debts that it was burdened with, as the value of the amounts owed by the club reached… 2,500,000,000 dinars, at a time when the club’s coffers were empty of funds and there was no significant support or funding. Since taking over the reins of the club, we began quick procedures and formed a team in the first stage, and our main mission was to zero out the debts. Indeed, 1,500,000,000 dinars were paid, and the payments were stopped at the time. “to avoid financial problems regarding players’ dues.”
Al-Ghazali added, “The Najafi administration and fans are determined to develop a long-term plan, extending over the next four years, to improve the status of the football team. Due to the lack of time, we decided as a first stage to prepare our existing players and restore the team during the transfer market. The team was reinforced with more than ten professional and local players, most notably Muhammad Daoud and Muhammad.” Qasim, Mohamed Sami and some other players,” indicating that “the management and technical staff are planning to settle on the current squad until next season in order to achieve harmony and stability in the team, especially with the passage of time and the increase in matches.”
Al-Ghazali continued, “The club, through effort, perseverance, and the solidarity of the administration, the technical staff, and the players, was able to cross a complex stage and began a purely technical stage that is completely different in terms of the form and quality of the players, in line with the philosophy of the coaching staff led by coach Abdel-Ghani Shahad.”
