The professional committee of the Israel Basketball Association, headed by Amos Frishman, decided today (Monday) on a change in the structure of the men’s leagues starting from the 2023/24 season, with the main decision being to reduce the national league to 12 teams.
As mentioned, in the National League 12 teams will play instead of the 15 teams currently playing, while the National League will be divided into two districts of 10 teams in each district. The minimum budget in the national league will be NIS 1.5 million and during the next season this issue will be discussed again.
