Huge trade in the NBA. Kevin Durant is leaving Brooklyn and is on his way to Phoenix as part of a major trade deal between the teams. In the United States, it is reported that the star will come to the Suns along with TJ Warren, while the Nets will receive Michael Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first round draft picks and an exchange of picks in return.

Senior NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Durant wanted a move and new Suns owner Matt Ishbia is pushing to close the deal soon. Durant arrived in Brooklyn in 2019, when he also played in Oklahoma where he started his career and in Golden State between 2016 and 2019. Now, he will join Chris Paul and Devin Booker.

The Suns will receive a player who won two championships (2017 and 2018), in which he also finished twice as MVP of the final series. Durant finished as the regular season MVP in 2014, was a two-time All-Star MVP and finished as the rebounding king from 2010 to 2012 and in 2014. He won three Olympic gold medals with the United States team.

The Nets are currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 22 losses alongside 32 wins. The Suns are also in fifth place, in the Western Conference of course, with a record of 30 wins against 26 losses. If it wasn’t enough that they lost Durant, the Nets, as I remember, also transferred Kyrie Irving to Dallas, when last season James Harden was also part of the mighty trio of stars, which has now disbanded. The team will now begin the process of rebuilding.
