This Thursday, images showing the new ice cream prices at Coppelia in the city of Santa Clara were published on social networks.
In that sense, it could be seen that an ice cream with fruit cocktail costs 200 Cuban pesos, the so-called triplets have a value of 140 pesos, while a spring sundae and a marquesita with ice cream reach 130 Cuban pesos.
The publication about the new Coppelia prices was made by journalist Alexis Boentes, who asked Santa Clara residents if they remembered the lines at Coppelia, while considering that now that ice cream parlor has also become a place for the privileged.
“In those times, which were already difficult times, at least we could sit down for a turquino or a salad. Look at the new prices, even Coppelia became a place for the privileged,” indicated on his Facebook profile.
The reactions of Cubans were immediate, and several of them considered that the rise in prices of products on the island shows the economic debacle that is being experienced and how inflation continues to increase due to the failed communist model.
Likewise, Antilleans complained about the poor quality of the ice cream offered.
