ROME – According to data from Agenas, the national agency for health services, for the first time since the beginning of July, the new cases
positive coronavirus in Italy, on a weekly basis, are in decrease. This is because according to the latest data from the Higher Institute of Health, most cases of new contagion and of hospitalizations in the last 30 days are of unvaccinated people.
Since 67% of the population are vaccinated and in fully vaccinated people there is a strong reduction in the risk of diagnosis (83%), hospitalization (95%), intensive care admissions and deaths (97%) compared to those unvaccinated, we can presumably keep a moderate optimism on the scenario that we will face in October.
Again according to the data elaborated by Agenas, the occupancy rate of the therapies intensive rose to 5% compared to 4% a week ago, while that of ordinary departments rose to 7% compared to 6% a week ago. Only Sicily risks a change of color in a week.
On Sunday, the daily bulletin recorded 5,923 new cases and 23 deaths, but the swabs were far fewer, 175,539, 79,679 fewer than the day before. The positivity rate therefore rises to 3.3% after dropping to 2.9% on Saturday. 34 more beds are occupied in the medical area for a total of 3,767 people hospitalized and 6 more but with 33 new entrances to resuscitation for a total of 472 patients.
