Here, the white of the dial is lacquered and gives the watch an inimitable look. The red Speedmaster writing blends perfectly into the white, as do the black indexes and the hands (white surrounded by black). To justify this new white, Omega evokes the color of the astronauts’ suit and that of the vehicles used for these same astronauts’ exits from their capsule. The Moon is therefore even more present in this new Moonwatch. Watch purists and/or Omega fans will also have recognized the inspiration coming from the Alaska I prototype, a watch with a white dial dating from 1969.

Around this dial sits the black anodized aluminum bezel where the famous number 90 clearly displays the famous point above, on the tachymeter scale. An Omega signature which means that the watch is powered by the Caliber 321 movement which accompanied the astronauts to the Moon, here in its Co-Axial Master Chronometer 386 1 version. The circle is complete.
