The Port of Barcelona puts out to tender the remodeling of the Contradique Norte quay

The Barcelona Port Authority (spain) has begun the bidding process for the remodeling works of the Contradique Norte wharf, which is part of the actions being carried out by those responsible for the enclosure to specialize the traffic of the docks.

Therefore, it is expected that operations with ro-pax type merchandise will begin in the Morrot dock with the renovation of the new Contradique Norte wharf, whose current structural deterioration has resulted in it being out of operation due to its precarious state.

In fact, several charitable actions have been carried out, such as the demolition of two of the three existing warehouses in this facility, definitively relocating its activity to the Álvarez de la Campa wharf, while the one closest to the end of the wharf has been maintained.

Regarding the works that will be carried out, there is the installation of a 268.29-meter caisson quay in the existing alignment of the Contradique Norte quay and a fixed ro-ro heel that will cover the services of both the Contradique quay and the Coast, with dimensions 70 and 45 meters, respectively.

The works have an execution period of a year and a half, a bidding base budget of 27,024,916.54 euros and an estimated contract value of 22,334,641.77 euros.

Another project that the Port of Barcelona is working on is the work to install its first electrical supply to ships, which will be located in the terminal Hutchison Ports BEST. For the moment, the Danish company PowerCon A/S, in charge of this project, has proceeded to open the trenches to facilitate the arrival of the medium voltage electrical network to the dock, where the OPS system will be implemented to which the boats will dock.
