The head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muften, promised too grant a huge financial reward to any Iraqi athlete who achieved an Olympic medal.
Muftin said in a statement received by the (INA) on Thursday: “Any Iraqi athlete who achieves an Olympic medal will be given the highest reward in the world, which is one million dollars, in a step aimed at motivating Iraqi athletes adn providing great support to achieve achievements in global competitions.”
Muftin added, “These rewards are part of the committee’s strategy to support athletes and develop Iraqi sports in general, expressing his hope that this financial incentive will contribute to motivating more athletes to achieve outstanding results in the Olympics.”
