The 4-day long Deputy Commissioner (DC) conference has started at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. The main venue of the conference is the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the conference at Shapla Hall of her office on Sunday (March 3) at 10:30 am.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, Cabinet Secretary Md. spoke to reporters about the DC conference at the Secretariat. Mahbub Hossain. The secretary said that DCs will be given instructions to implement the election manifesto of the government.

Stating that 356 proposals are going to be raised in the conference, the secretary said, in the proposals received from the Deputy Commissioners and Divisional Commissioners, the issues of increasing public services, reducing public suffering, building roads and bridges, developing tourism, amending laws and regulations, and protecting public interest have been arranged on a priority basis. Most of the proposals relate to road transport and highways departments. A total of 22 proposals have been received in this regard.

The secretary also said, ‘There will be a total of 30 sessions in the conference this time. Among them 25 working sessions with various ministries and departments. Apart from this, there will be an inauguration ceremony, a courtesy meeting with the Speaker and two sessions with a courtesy meeting with the Chief Justice, receiving instructions and other formalities. Ministers/Advisors/State Ministers/Senior Secretaries/Secretaries will be present in the working sessions.

A total of 56 ministries, departments and organizations and the Prime Minister’s Office will participate in the conference this time. Last year there was a session with the President but this time it is not happening as the President is abroad, said the Cabinet Secretary.

This year’s conference will end next Wednesday (March 6).
