Presumably With Yevgeny Prigozhin the transponders of the plane flying on board suddenly stopped providing data after 6:11 p.m. local time, according to the data of FlightRadar24, which monitors the movements of the planes.

Based on flight data, the Embraer Legacy aircraft owned by Prigozhin was already at cruising altitude over the Tver region after taking off from the Moscow airport shortly before, reports CNN.

Then all of a sudden the speed and altitude data transmission with the ground server stopped.

Prior to the failed coup, Prigozhin regularly traveled from Rostov-on-Don, the city of Wagner’s headquarters, to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Belarus.

It is not yet known exactly what caused the plane to crash, and FlightRadar24 does not provide an explanation for this either, but according to some press reports, the Russian air defense could have hit it.

By the way, the radar did not show a steep descent before contact with the plane was lost, which could have indicated that the plane had malfunctioned.

It is not clear from the flight data where the plane was headed, but according to the Russian authorities, it would have gone to St. Petersburg.

Ten people were traveling on the plane, and Prigozhin was also on the passenger list. You can read more about what happened by clicking here.
