On the part of “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) this is an attempt to take revenge for the fact that things did not continue. This is what Rumen Hristov, the Chairman of the SDF and Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Group (PG) of the GERB-SDF, told BNT on the occasion of the early release of the Speaker of the Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov, voted today in the National Assembly by PP-DB, “Vazrazhdane”, BSP and “There is such a people” (ITN).

He emphasized that Rosen Zhelyazkov is a very good lawyer, a dialogical and erudite person. He didn’t deserve that, Hristov added.

On whether GERB-SDS are dependent on DPS chairman Delyan Peevski, Hristov said: “Peevski and DPS were good and helped when it came to the changes in the Constitution, which required two-thirds. Without the votes of the DPS, we would not have achieved these two-thirds. They did not have any representative in the executive power, as well as GERB-SDS, with the exception of Maria Gabriel. All the more important issues were decided between us, because we had 132 people’s representatives. I cannot say that a majority that has a sufficient number of mandates will be guided or led by another political formation that is not in the coalition,” he explained.

In response to a question as to why the laws that prevented us from receiving the second payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RSP) were not voted, the SDS leader said that more than 20 laws related to the plan were voted. “All those who have gone to commissions have been examined. This is one of the accusations against Rosen Zhelyazkov. We did what we could. Another issue is that the government has delayed a lot,” he explained.

According to him, the GERB-SDS had no other useful course of action, except to end the rotational management with the PP-DB.

According to him, Bulgaria needs stability – “not only for the sake of our voters, but also for the sake of our foreign policy partners, who want to know who they are talking to on important topics”.

Many things were done amateurishly by “Continuing the Change” (PP), “Democratic Bulgaria” (DB) behaved more wisely in this period. DB had few representatives in this government, they were mainly from PP, Hristov added.
