Israel’s reserve handball team (EHF)
Israel’s reserve handball team advanced to the finals of the European Under-20 Championship, tier B, where they will meet tomorrow (Sunday) the winner between Greece and Romania. The blue-whites did it after a great 29:32 over Switzerland, which was the favorite to win the tournament held in Bulgaria.
The winner of the tournament will qualify for the qualifiers for promotion to the Under-21 World Championship to be held next summer, along with five teams that finished last in the European Championship Tier A, Montenegro, Norway, Croatia, Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic.
The reserve, which defeated the national teams of Lithuania, Luxembourg and Great Britain on the way to the semi-finals, surprised the Swiss who finished in first place in the corresponding house with monstrous data of four victories in a perfect balance, a goal ratio of plus 58 (almost 15 difference on average per game), and scoring averages of 34 goals compared to absorption of 20.
