BEIJING, Sept. 16, 2022 (Xinhua) Space enthusiasts can take a look at the return capsule of the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft, which brought three Chinese astronauts back to Earth after their six-month orbital flight, during the ongoing Beijing Science Festival.

This is the first time that the capsule has been shown to the public since its landing on April 16. The spacecraft’s canopy and wreckage of the Long March-3A carrier rocket are also on display at the Beijing Science Center.

The science festival, which kicked off last Thursday, will provide science veterans from the public with an opportunity to interact with China’s latest science and technology achievements.

Elements of the space station are prominently featured at the event, which will run until September 30.

Visitors can enjoy immersive experiences of the China Orbital Space Station’s “Tianhe” core module and the newly launched Wentian laboratory module, using virtual reality devices.

Measuring instruments, toilets and sleeping cabins are also available for public display, as well as laboratory rooms, which are closely related to the life and work of the astronauts. /ts/
