The Russian national football team will play with Iceland, Israel and Albania in the same group of the League of Nations of the new season, according to the team’s website.
The group stage draw for the third UEFA Nations League draw took place today in Nyon, Switzerland. Russia ended up in group B2 with rivals from the indicated countries. The teams will play in two rounds from June 2 to September 27 next year. The winner will eventually advance to League A.
Countries that win in the four groups of League A will advance to the final stage of the League of Nations – scheduled for June 2023. Group winners from other leagues will move up one stage. At the same time, the teams that took the last places in the groups in leagues A and B will go lower.
In 2019, the Portuguese national team became the winner of the League of Nations. France won in 2021. Both teams are in league A, Portugal is in group 2 along with Spain, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, France is in group 1 with Denmark, Croatia and Austria.
