The Russian Embassy in Serbia commented on the situation with the journalists of the Izvestia Information Center, who were called spies by the Kosovar media.

The film crew included an operator, a correspondent and an interpreter, two Russians and one citizen of Belarus.

“We regard this as arbitrariness and violation of the principles of freedom of the media, which the patrons of the Kosovo pseudo-statehood are so concerned about,” the message says.

Journalists filmed the blocked passage between Serbia and the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo. The operator legally crossed the Kosovo border, leaving the equipment on the territory of Serbia and not going further than the barricades. The correspondent and the translator were denied permission to cross the border due to the lack of Schengen and Kosovo visas. After filming, the journalists returned back without any complaints from the border guards.

However, then in the local media there was information about allegedly “Russian spies with suspicious cybernetic equipment.” The material posted on the website of the publication Telegrafi.com also published the passport data of two Russians.
