Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Airat Gatiyatov took part in the meeting of the G20 research and innovation ministers in India. He stressed that “we are strongly against the politicization of the traditionally neutral scientific sphere along the lines of the G20.”

Gatiyatov invited G20 members to join the project implemented by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science to create carbon polygons. The Deputy Minister also invited foreign colleagues to take part in the Floating University project, which is aimed at training young specialists.

Since global science is impossible without Russia, we are ready to contribute to this common work, Gatiyatov said.

Despite the unfriendly and even hostile steps taken by a number of Western countries, the Russian Federation continues to build up and strengthen cooperation with a large number of states. Participants of the Russia-Africa forum, which will be held on July 27 and 28 in St. Petersburg, will sign a declaration on common views for international cooperation. The forum participants will also make a number of statements on cooperation in space, the fight against terrorism and information security.
