Time.news – Another ten years and the ‘Sacred Family’ it may no longer be synonymous with eternal unfinished. The delegate chair of the Construction Committee, Esteve Camps, stated that the structure will be completed within a maximum of 10 years if there are no setbacks like the pandemic, which has slowed construction of the basilica of Barcelona.

In an interview published in the religious weekly Catalunya Cristiana, Camps stated that, once the towers of the Evangelists were finishedthe next step will be to finish that of Jesus Christ – the tallest of the entire architectural complex – and which is scheduled for 2026.

Another of the elements awaiting completion is the façade of Glory, for which “international artists” applied. The construction of the facade will be supervised by the director architect, Jordi Fauli, who will have the task of following the work of the sculptors “with the advice of the theologians”.

“There will be a minimum of three artists, but there must be the same common thread”, stated Camps who also referred to the staircase on the facade of the Gloria, underlining that there is no giving up “to the project that Antoni Gaudì presented in 1915 and which everyone can see in the Municipal Archives of Barcelona”.
