Meow is a Malayalam film directed by Lal Jose and starring Saubin Shahir and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. Cat, as the name implies, was another important character in the film. Lal Jose’s shooting experience with a cat is now making headlines among the audience. Meow is a film shot entirely in the Gulf. Lal Jose says that the biggest tension in the movie was the cat. After all the rest of the shooting was done it took me a day to copy the cat’s only shots. When the girl was on the radio, she was shot with a camera. The first to be brought in for the shoot was a trained cat but was sitting under the car after being let out of the cage. Later it did not come out. It was even thought that the movie would have to be stopped because of the cat. But then he got another house cat.
It was a beautiful cat to look at with a love symbol on its stomach. At first that was the problem too. Then the cat was adapting. Lal Jose said the cat did everything they needed to do. Cats are not like other domestic animals. Training does not matter. The cat will not obey what we say. It will only do what it likes. He added that that was the biggest tension while making this film.
